Our romantic getaway of the week: Punda Milias Camp

Every one of us wants that special cozy romantic yet affordable getaway where they can enjoy as a couple.
Our discovery of the week is it!! Punda Milias Campsite
Located a few kilometres from Nakuru town and next to the soysambu conservancy, Punda Milias offers a rustic weekend getaway for a couple looking to have peaceful, private moments.  It is ideal for couples looking for a 2 day 1 night weekend getaway not far away from the hustles and bustles of city life.
The best part is that it is affordable.
Accommodation
Punda Milias offers a variety of accommodation options for couples:
Couples have the option of camping at a cost of Kshs. 1,000/= per person per night
Or they could stay at the bandas at a cost of Kshs. 3,400/= per person per night
Our preferred choice is a night at the Bush Camp which costs Kshs. 8,500/= per person per night
A couple looking for absolute privacy has the option of staying at the self-catering cottages with an outdoor bath.
Please note all rates are on bed only basis.

Food:
The food at Punda Milias is to die for though a bit pricy for the average local.  They have a really nice cozy bar and restaurant as well as an outdoors sitting area where one can enjoy the African sun with a nice meal or drink.  Price range for drinks is between Kshs. 200/- for a beer to Kshs. 2,000/= for a bottle of wine.  A proper meal would most probably cost you about Kshs.  700/= per plate but all worth it.
Activities while at Punda Milias:
There’s so much that one can engage in while at Punda Milias from a nice swim at their pool, to an afternoon of bush adventure i.e. nature walks, biking safaris, horse riding safaris.
What we would recommend for couple is an evening sundowner or bush dinner at the camp.

Is it a must visit for couples:                       Absolutely Yes!!

VALENTINES ON A BUDGET

So Valentines Day is only a couple of days away.

I am sure a lot of men are having a rough time trying to figure out what to get for the fair lady (maybe they can't even remember that Valentines day is here...Again!) and the ladies are biting their nails wondering, "Will he remember this time or won't he".

It is generally an anxious time for many couples and singles as well.  But it need not be.

The Commercialization of Valentines day has made the 14th of February an overrated day and yet it need not be a day filled with drama, and red roses, and panic attacks because that special man in your life didn't remember this special day.

It is a simple day.  A day meant to show the ones we love that we care.  One need not spend millions to show how much they care or love someone.  All it takes is that special gesture like A kiss and I love you to that person you rarely appreciate, breakfast in bed for your wife, a call to your Mom or Dad who you haven't seen in a while, a random act of kindness to a stranger who needs a helping hand.

Valentines is a day to show real genuine love to the world.  After all the World needs lots of love going round.  It shouldn't be about the red roses or the expensive dinner or expensive romantic getaway.  Its about giving that which your heart can afford.  After all they say the best things in life are free.

Lets all have a Valentine on a Budget and share the stories and memories for a lifetime!

Happy Valentines Week
